The 'embarassment' comes from being someone who can distinguish between his own likes and dislikes vs. the actual quality of a piece of music. Sometimes one likes music which one is aware has a cheezy or 'low' quality to it, so it becomes what we can lightly call a "guilty pleasure".

Enter the Dragon IS a classic score, but it's also really cheezy. Smile And "The Living Daylights" title song is a guilty pleasure for me because I don't like popular music's simplicity, the lyrics are a bit silly, and because I like it a LOT! Smile

But I took the theme of this thread as a conversational gambit, if you asked me if I was truly 'ashamed' of liking these things I'd say of course not!

Oh, and I feel NO shame over the fact that I don't like some Bond movie soundtracks--the Bill Conti, Marvin Hamlisch and David Arnold efforts leave me cold.
