This may be old news to some of you, but I'll post it anyway:
Danny Elfman is doing a commission for American Composers Orchestra's Orchestra Underground Concert. He will be composing the piece after he has finished his work on Sam Raimi's SPIDER-MAN 2. (EDIT: Which is - now. If he isn't already working on Tim Burton's "Willy Wonka" remake that is.)
