Hi,
I'm new here. Just wanted to suggest a very good score:

'Girl with a Pearl Earring' by Alexandre Desplat

The score is relaxing, beautiful and soft. The sound quality is good as well, which makes the music all the more engaging to listen to (the sound quality of Decca's releases are generally quite good, and they don't disappoint this time either).

Welcome aboard Score!!

Girl With A Pearl Earring is on SST's HUGE database and I don't know it very well, so I'll give it a go. Thanks for the recommendation!

Score,

First, welcome aboard.
Second, read the newbie faq, since you obviously haven't.
Third, read the post at the top of the request forum that says, "Read this before you request"

And finally, as you'll see on the homepage we just had a server change and only about a third of our playlist is up so far. I believe we already have this soundtrack, but it just hasn't made the jump yet.

Cocles, I don't think Score was requesting it...but rather recommending it for listeners to request it when they're at SST (that's how I understood it anyways - maybe I'm wrong). And, it was already moved to the new server (May 4 Playlist update on Home Page plus it can be found at the Playlist/Requests link).

Ohhhh.... yeah, reading it again I can see what he's saying.

Good eyes, Robert.

Moving back to soundtracks. Yeehaw.

You misunderstand. I'm not requesting anything (I've purchased the CD, why should I request it?). I'm just posting a recommendation. I thought that was allowed on the forum in which the original message was posted?

I'm in a hurry now, will reply to the other posts later.

Not necessarily, but it's true that I didn't request it. Sound clips can also be streamed from the official soundtrack/movie site. You could also listen to the CD at your local CD-shop for that matter.

I'm just trying to bring your attention to it, because I really think this one of the best scores of its kind that I've heard in the last few years. And it surprises me that it's got so little attention on many of the soundtrack/score-sites. A very good CD which is very enjoyable to listen to on a separate basis (not only along with the visuals).

Ok, now I really gotta go Smile

I'd suggest that you read my posts again. Carefully. I am making a recommendation, but I'm not necessarily recommending people to request it at SST (like you suggested). Like I've said, people may check out the score (which is the essence here) in their local CD-store as well. I hope that clarifies the issue for you.

All he's doing is recommending you give it a listen wherever you can.
