I recently bought a PlayStation 3, which has Folding@Home support, so whenever I'm not using my PS3 it's folding like crazy.
I've, of course, joined the SST team, so if anybody else has some PS3's just idling (or PCs) join in. _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

Thanks for helping in the fight against disease, and for supporting the SST team.
I've lost access to the machines I used to run it on. I'll have to look around for more.

After only a month I'm now at the top of the SST list. Where's everybody else? _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

I lost access to all the machines that I ran my clients on. I'll have to revisit the task and see if I can get some more machines up and running.

OK... I just found this forum... I'm installing the software now... (And will actually be joining both SST in both folding@home and SETI as soon as I get finished setting it up...)
Sorry it took me so long.

Done deal... but it appears I'm the only member, or active member at the SETI project... F@h seems to be a tad more active...
Have we given up on aliens?

@ARFD6: could you post the link to Seti team here? My old team has been dead since the move to BOINC so I could join SST now
edit: never mind, I joined already
I'm also participating in Seti@home Beta test, Einstein@home, and LHC@Home but I haven't found any SST teams for those projects. |

Personally I'd rather help fight deseases than look for aliens (which I dont believe exist except for those who are members here).

I'd love to rejoin the SST SETI@Home, but my PS3 only supports Folding@Home so I'll stick with that until someone ports it.
As for believing in aliens or not... I think it's a statistical inevitability that aliens (life on other planets than our own) do exist, as I wrote about in my blog last year. To join in on the search for those and actually maybe ending up finding evidence would be one of the biggest scientific discoveries of our time, so I'm all for supporting SETI@Home.
Aliens visiting Earth, on the other hand, is a whole other issue which SETI@Home does not cover. _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

I just installed SETI@Home on my office computer, so I'm back on the team. Still running Folding@Home on my PS3 back home, so I'm not leaving that team behind. _________________ "Anything one man can imagine,

Yeah, pehaps I chose my words poorly. I don't think that there is life "out there" but I'm not willing to stand up and say for sure that there isn't. In any event, life "out there" has little to no impact on me at all and I'd rather do my small part to help improve the lives of those here on good old planet Earth. Not a judgement on those participating in SETI, just an attempt to clarify my comment.

At http://boinc.mundayweb.com/ you can create an account and get these handy little overview images of your BOINC projects and credit. Could be nice for in forum signatures, on websites, etc.
