|
I want to make a CD of the songs played here that most define SST. I may use it to demo the station for satellite radio or just for fun. Please share what songs you think SST is.
I'll keep track of the list here, in no particular order.
SST's Greatest Hits
Legnth So Far (51:20) [goal = 70-80 minutes)
1. Castlevania, Dracula New Classic - Vampire Killer (7:06)
2. The Fifth Element - Lucia Di Lammermoor, The Diva Dance (4:41)
3. Dark City - You Have The Power (12:14)
4. K-Pax - Grand Central (4:39)
5. Princess Mononoke - Ashitaka Theme (End Credit) (5:03)
6. Time Machine - Godspeed (5:20)
7. Witch Hunter Robin - Kyrie (3:07)
8. Traffic - Ascent (4:26)
9. Fight Club - What Is Fight Club? (4:44) _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I would add some E.S. PROMETHUS(sp) and Some LOTR return of the king, or some other easily recognizable sst music if you want it for a demo for satelite radio... And just for grins, how about some SEX-O-RAMA. |

Track from Hishaisi or that Final fantasy dude. I forgot his name. Suggestion: Nausicaa opening theme.
Some Klaus Badelt (Time machine) or Bryan Tyler (Children of Dune)
Yeah and I like the E.S. Posthumus idea too. |

Maybe Conan like battle of the mound? _________________ If you have it you don't need it. If you need it you don't have it. You need it to get it and you certainly need it to get more of it. Which means you don't have it to begin with people just know. |

I like all the suggestions that have come up already...
And...
How about some Jerry Goldsmith action tracks, from Total Recall or Air Force One (or alternately, Alan Silvestri's Predator).
Lots of people around here also seem to like Goldsmith's Rudy. |

For me, in my short time here, I feel SST is about hearing new music by composers I hadn't heard of before.
With that in mind I would like to suggest something from the Medal Of Honor scores - Labyrinth Of The Minotaur from Medal Of Honor: Underground or Escaping Gotha from Frontline perhaps.
Whenever I listen to Michael Gacchino's music I instantly think of SST.
Everything mentioned so far is SST too (particularly Children of Dune, Timeline and Posthumus). The problem will be condensing it down to 80 minutes! |

I first heard Kyrie from the Witch Hunter Robin Soundtrack here at SST. That inspired me to buy the soundtrack and the anime series. Whenever I hear that track in particular I think of SST.
I am also very keen on anything from E.S. Posthumus and Children of Dune as well. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. The Rock was the first soundtrack I ever requested here on SST, so that feels SST for me
But having both Gladiator and The Rock would maybe be to much, I dunno. |

Need signature/theme tracks of:
Starwars,
Indiana,
Back To The Future,
Hunt For Red October,
Gone In 60 Seconds,
The Good-The Bad-The Ugly,
Matrix,
Magnificent Seven,
Batman,
Titanic,
The Day The Earth Stood Still,
Man, do these have to be CD-Audio? You can't define SST in 15 to 20 tracks: SST is just to diverse.
Good Luck. I hope that you get something on satellite - it might be the nudge I need to make the move. _________________ "insert your own clever quote here.... I'm too lazy to do it." |
