Pop, it's just what we call it here in Yorkshire. And diluted drinks we just call juice. Why make life hard?

When I refer to the general class of drink, I call it pop (my vote). But when I order it in a restaraunt, I specify the flavor or the brand. Cherry Coke, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, rootbeer.

In general, I just refer to it all as pop most of the time. Unless of course I'm refering to a certain brand name.

Question: What's your favorite pop?
.....personally I enjoy Mt. Dew...........

Oh btw, i cannot really reply to this poll but how about in hungarian? We call coke, pepsi, fanta, and the others "Üdítő" Smile Kinda like "pop", names this class of drinks.
And we order by brand.

Well, if you put coke, milk, vodka and Kahlua together, it's called a paralyzer. And it's not bad.

Do you get Iron Brew in any other countries other than the UK? It's a mixed fruit fizzy drink.

Who the heck are you? Laverne DeFazio? Wink (Though admittedly her drink was milk & Pepsi)

I call it soda, though I'm in a distinct minority here in Canada where I believe pop is the more common moniker. Heck, I even tend to call it "soda pop" because I think it sounds old fashioned and I'm just one of those people who *has* to be different (I also call a can of food a "tin" and a windshield a "windscreen"). Perhaps not coincidentally, I was beaten up by the other schoolchildren quite regularly Sad

To the best of my knowledge, Irn Bru (to which I believe you're referring) hasn't made its way overseas save for speciality stores that import all sorts of exotic drinks.

Yep, that's correct Cal. It's basically a White Russian with Coke in it.

And Mellowman, I have tried Iron Brew. There's a Scottish pub in Ottawa that serves it. It's not bad... not bad at all.
