Oh well, I know the word spread already, BUT it was a tough road for me, for sure!
I passed my exams and I'm a state-approved teacher for secondary schools in the subjects Biology and English now. I'm more than relieved that this stressful time is over and that I got away with a reasonable result!
Thanks for all the congrats that I received already!
If you know schools that might need me, let me know! _________________ Labwork and scientific experience tell me: Nothing is really foolproof for a sufficiently talented fool.

YAY, Sock! Your hard work has paid off.
I think they stretch things out and make it tough so you'll be forced to learn patience... which you'll need LOTS of as a secondary school teacher.
And I already posted this in another thread but will repeat here: congrats to LadyI on the newest little sidekick! _________________ "A day without music is a mistake." – John Williams |

Sock, I'm so impressed! I considered becoming a teacher at that level, but I confess the exam requirements scared me off. Well, that, and I don't like that age much. Hrm.
Biology and English, that's so neat. Such different subjects. I hope you're proud, because you deserve to be. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Thanks so much everyone!
Platy: the biology of the sock involves its ecological surrounding, its evolutionary development, its procreational habits, its genetic variance... much is there still to be discovered of course!
Mojo: oh yes! patience you need, young padawan!
bir: working on that!
LadyI: the exams were tough, yes; the age group is one of my favorite, because they already have their own opininon. Basically, if you take them seriously as persons, let them decide certain things, make your decisions transparent and stick to rules both sides agreed on... then they're really easy to handle. Teenagers are one of the most creative, funny, vivacious and most awesome group of people one can meet in life.
My subjects: yes that was part of the decision really. I always loved both of them, had a horrible biology teacher in school, wanted to teach science and Shakespeare, two very different passions that combine with a third one: my passion for people In university I always loved the constant change between literary theory, linguistics, old English (oh yes!), Grammar AND cell structures, pipettes, test tubes, genetics, evolution, animals, bird excursions (at 4 in the morning). One is life the other culture condensed and today I couldn't live without one of them _________________ Labwork and scientific experience tell me: Nothing is really foolproof for a sufficiently talented fool.

(I tried to post this earlier; apparently, it didn't work.)
So I promised pictures. Here's the junior and senior Inquelings:
I haven't gotten Z a Robin shirt, despite m_p's excellent suggestion, but one of my husband's coworkers got him this:
They think we like Dune, for some reason. Actually, this makes me want to make a shirt for him that says "Little Maker," because that would be even nerdier. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Congratulations Lady! Last I saw your pictures, they not heralded this change! Beautiful babies! _________________ Human beings are divided into mind and body. The mind embraces all the nobler aspirations, like poetry and philosophy, but the body has all the fun - Woody Allen |
