i was 2603!!! yeah!!!
I actually emailed G. Yared a while ago and thanked him for his music on his site and said it was great. he seemed very grateful and humble about it. Here is what he said:
Thanks for your kind email .
As you may know , Warner Bros owns all the rights and
they could decide to release or not a CD of my work . I
guess they will probably wait until the films has ended its
carrier in the theatres ...let's hope this will happen
someday .
Thanks for your support
Gabriel
I hope it gets released soon!
I also told him about SST! _________________ Grab a beer, don't cost nuttin... |

Yared's score is much more complex than and not as clichéd as Horner's, but not as exciting either. _________________ Oscar Predictions 2006 and Movie Reviews |

I just had the pleasure to attend to a screening of Troy with Gabriel Yared's rejected score, followed by the same movie with Horner's music, and I have to say...
Yared's music is beautiful and complex, but - Horner's music worked better with the movie. The main reason for dumping Yared's score was, according to the studio, that it sounded "dated" or too old-fashioned, which is true. It does turn the movie into "Jason and the Argonauts", which it's not. Kudos to Horner for delivering a working score to a 160 minutes movie in less than 4 weeks, although, as always, he had to re-use some of his older stuff and re-arrange some music already composed by Yared. Very disappointing on CD though, while Yared's music is a pleasure to listen to. I especially liked the fugue (during the Trojan horse sequence), although there's no real reason for Yared to use a fugue there - except for showing that his able to write one. |

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I've heard that horner's score goes better with the movie. I love Yared's score better to just listen to, but who knows what I'll think once I see the movie. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

After listening to the soundtrack here, I signed the petition too. Horner's score leaves me cold, but Yared's music is really enthralled. Haven't seen the movie, but would be really interested in watching a DVD with both soundtracks.

I get the impression that all the people who have said that Horner's ST sucks and Yared's one is awesome never has seen the movie. Is there any one who would have preferred Yared's score, after seeing the movie?
I really like Horner's score. Especially knowing he wrote it in a couple of weeks. Yared's score is nice. Contains some good music, be but I do not see images of the movie with it. And it appears Shock just confirmed that to me. |

I believe Yareds score would work with the movie, infact it would give it the epic scope it seemed to lack. _________________ By responding in any way shape or form, you contractually agree that I’m right, and youre wrong. |

Saying you believe is fine, but Shock is only one here who's opinion is based on something he "knows" instead of "speculation". |

For what it's worth, I notice that this score tops Cinescape's list of Best Scores of 2004.
