damn. i aint followed too much in the music industry, but i came across the news he passsed away after a long battle with cancer, and surprised that there wasn't a thread about it. considering goldsmith was almost the father of film scores!
i went to see his birthday concert this year, which he was too unwell to attend. the concert continued with his blessing with substitute composer.
i find this quite sad news, as he's been my favourite musical artist since i was a wee boy. he has left behind a fantastic library of moving and thought provoking music and as for you movie goers know, there's no need to explain any more.
im sure with new composers in the indusrty will go on and make profound film music and raise the bar, but goldmsith's music will certainly be immortialised with his signature sound and very different approach of scoring style. |

Not only is there a thread on him we dedicated a whole day of JG's music in his memory. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Yeah, I think Joyride's heavily mispoken. |
