PeteC, this is totally off topic, but why are all of your posts formatted in a different way than everyone else's posts? (By this I mean they only go over a certain length and then wrap around, whereas everyone else's go a lot farther to fit the screen)

Or are you just overzealous with the carriage returns? Wink

Pixie,

Yes, I am overzealous with my
carriage returns. I am accust-
omed to writing this way, when
making short notes etc.

It looks like you are writing poems at first glance... I guess I don't see why you would do that??

I suppose it doesn't really matter though. *shrug*

Actually, I think it stems
from my newsletter writing.
I have always written in a
3 or 4-column format.

In my daily work, it's im-
portant for me to get the
readers through their sect-
ions quickly and with the
least bit of eye movement.

It's a lot of material for
them to get through and I
have been told by clients
that they prefer it, this
way. It just hung around,
I guess, over the years.

Smile

Maybe Pete is practicing
to be come an apprentice
in the dark arts of sp@mming.
Rumor has is that if you
can keep your line lengths
really short you can icrease
the amount of screen real estate
that you occupy. The
message doesn't really
have to be about anything
in particular it could just
be about taking steps to
make sure buffy/thur doesn't
pass me in number of posts.
Anyway at some point you
subconciously stop reading
the words and slip into
scan mode. So you can just
meander on about sillyness
or with keyword dense text
but eventually you will have
to come to and end and then
you come to the often
overlooked and missed part of
any sales pitch you have
to ask for the sale and
most importantly

EMPHASIZE THE LINE YOU WANT PEOPLE TO CLICK ON

Not that I have ever done such a thing

Pete has been hanging out in the chat too much and now everything he types has the block-width. Laughing

Maybe it's only because you've drawn attention to it but I find I'm reading Pete's lines as if each line ends with a full stop.

So it doesn't.
Read properly in.
My mind at all it's.
All disjointed.

But perhaps it's my mind that disjointed, much more likely Wink

You know, the perfect paragraph length is actually about 9 to 10 words long per line. So Pete's are too short and depending on your resolution, SST's are too long.

Even worse when someone includes a large graphic or anything else that extends the right-hand side beyond the browser window (so horizontal scrolling is required).
