Somewhere around 10:30 am, 3 hours before actual hurricane arrival, our power went out. Fortunately Ivn took a right turn at the very last minute and miseed Mobile Bay. By doing this it lost its power and we received no more than heavy rains. Other than no power for a day, and some roof leaking, we received no damage. The only injury was our cat, Belle, whose hair was burned when she jumped up on the table into a candle while I was kicking my husbands a** in trivial pursuit (By candlelight).
There was relatively minimal loss of life in alabama and there are still several 100,000 w/o power. There were two trees down in our neighborhood, and today we lost power again as a branch that had previously fallen in the hurricane fell the rest of the way today causing a power outage of about 2 hours. My girls have remained safe with their grandparents who received no dameage at all.
Anyway see you Monday and ROLLLLLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!! (alabama is currently winning 52-0)
Thanks for everyones prayers and thoughts

I'm so glad things didn't get any worse other than the cat. All the best for you and your family. _________________ The good people sleep much better at night than the bad people. Of course, the bad people enjoy the waking hours much more. |

Glad you are all (almost) OK,
Thur. We were all worried but
are now relieved.

Glad to hear it.
Now...hopefully we wont suffer too much dammage.
There's a tropical storm heading my way.
It has already flooded parts of my old school. |
