I have always been quite disappointed by the strange similarity of Horner's "Titanic" and "Braveheart" soundtracks. Recently i noticed something bigger, that is: "A beautiful Mind"'s soundtrack has the same theme as "The Bicentennial Man". Horner is a great composer, but sometimes i'm disappointed with his lack of originality. What about you ?

As a soundtrack fanatic and also the minority, YES I get disappointed. Most filmgoers don't notice this though. Also consider what a director may demand of a composer. If they want it to sound similar like their previous work (maybe why they're hired in the first place) then there isn't much of a choice. If we ever do an interview with a big time composer I will ask them if they are ever under pressure to "recreate" something they've already done.

Just a FYI, we've touched on this subject a few times before in these forums.

I'm sorry for putting that Subject again. I had not seen the post: "Horner self-quotations?". Sorry for that!
