Damn, this is starting to look good. Looks like Burton is going to be letting us see a lot of the darker undertones that Dahl wrote into his simply brilliant story. Of course, picking Depp to play Wonka should have been enough to tell us that this angle would be explored...
I'm getting excited... |

Can't wait. I love Burtons style and Johnny Depp as an actor. |

I noticed on the poster that Danny Elfman is doing the soundtrack to this picture. Nice. I feel that Burton and Elfman always make a good team. |

I love the books and think the original film is just fine. Although if anyone can do a decent remake/re-envisioning of the original, Tim Burton's the best person for the job.
Considering that since "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" in 1985, there has been exactly *one* Tim Burton film that *didn't* have a score by Elfman ("Ed Wood"), is it really any surprise that he's doing this one as well? |

Nope - but he had stopped doing comic book based movies, so who could be sure what else he didnt' want to do anymore. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

I didn't know it was a Tim Burton film. When I saw that doodle said "Burton" in the message, I tried to find Tim's name on the poster. Instead, I saw "Danny Elfman" for the soundtrack and I said "oh ok, then it HAS to be Tim Burton"... Not that it is always the case but the picture + Elfman, it had to be Burton.
Tim Burton and Danny Elfamn DO make a wonderful team. Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish, Mars Attacks... _________________ Always wondered what a French photo album could look like?

I thought I heard from somewhere that Elfman is going to do some singing again? Is there any truth to that or am I imagining? _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

okay mine never say anything but movies or soundtracks, except in my pm's it always has discount flights to czhek (i have no idea how to spell that country)
but at any rate, went to elfmans site, and so far no news of him singing.
But i will definitely be on the look out.
I did find out he did the score for the opening titles in ABC's Desparate Housewives. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |
