|
I have an idea.. Since some mortals are so thrilled to have a lasting impact on the SST queue, and have picks 'that count' (nothing under 7 minutes). I'm convinced that adding a search parameter in the request page called 'length' would be a great idea to both help them and their audience.
It should allow people to query for the longest tracks in sst (tracks longer than x), that way at least the listeners will get to hear other longer tracks, and not just the ones the picker knows as being long. _________________ "By the time they had diminished from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect 'Hungry.'" -- Gary Larson |

I have another idea. Let's subject Slowmo to the horrible 'Chants' torture for that suggestion... _________________ My reality cheque bounced

I'm still a supporter of the a-10-minutes-or-more-track-counts-as-two-requests idea. |

So Jeric - can we find a really long dracula perfect battle? _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

Well you can always make a long track out of 2 short ones.. (concatenation)
Try this at home (in command prompt) :
copy file1.mp3 /b + file2.mp3 /b file3.mp3
Guaranteed success..
JERIC if you want you can start doing this with gladiator tracks 15 and 16 _________________ "By the time they had diminished from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect 'Hungry.'" -- Gary Larson |

To be honest I started this thread feigning an "idea". As some of the older members know, I went on numerous crusades against people's long track picking tendencies. So my opinions are quite contrary to this idea. (Hence my request to move this thread from the idea lab)
But, big but, the idea is actually not that bad, I mean, let's face it, we're not going to be able to prevent people from picking long tracks, so this search option could help diversity. On the other hand, it will make it easier on people that couldn't find long tracks before.
Well to conclude let's just wipe those pesky users and keep the search as it is. _________________ "By the time they had diminished from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect 'Hungry.'" -- Gary Larson |
