When a new message is displayed, it's highlighted in yellow.
When I am trying to access the forum and I cannot for some reasons, or when I don't log in for a while, when I come back, many threads are not highlighted although I know I haven't read them so I have to look at them one by one which is tedious...
Do you think it would be useless and/or tedious to make a little check box that could keep track of the thread one has read or not or one would like to read later and/or another one that could keep track of threads where one would like to have follow-ups. _________________ Always wondered what a French photo album could look like?

Hey Schro - what browser are you using
and also note if you come from PM's it can also clear them out. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

In other words... checking your PM's counts as checking the forums, so it'll reset your "New Post" indicators. |

Thanks for the PM info, thuring and Cocles.
I am using Internet explorer.
I rarely receive PMs so I rarely check my inbox anyway. Still it shows up as if I had read them. Maybe instead of "ideas:, I should have put this as a "help" thread... _________________ Always wondered what a French photo album could look like?

Done - hmmm Schroddie, I don't know. I use firefox and it came back to me that it could be a firefox problem.
Wonder if anyone besides me and you are having this problem? _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

Yes, I have had this problem in the past as well. I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure I hadn't been checking PMs when it happened to me. |

Just saw the "Marked all thread read" on the right top corner of forum thread lists. Awesome! Thanks a lot!! _________________ Always wondered what a French photo album could look like?

And today I just discovered there is a link on the top right corner of the forum list called "View posts since last visit". I don't know how long it has been there but that's just great! Thanks!! _________________ Always wondered what a French photo album could look like?

Is the highlighting driven by cookies? I've noticed my unread highlights are different from computer to computer. _________________ "It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him." ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

No it is coockie independant. It is based on the last time you visit the forum. All logged in the database and stuff.. |

I've noticed that if I interrupt the browser during loading of a page (click back buttor, or click a different link before the first one loads) it'll reset all threads as if I've just read them all. Annoying behavior, and possibly operator error. Any suggestions (besides not being an idiot?)
