I had an idea:
what if we could request more than 1 track at the time when we choose tracks wich lasts less than 1 min?

(keep up the good work! Very Happy )

Robotech:Eyecatch anyone? A whopping 8 seconds.
Probably Thur's favorite Robotech track.
I'll pick it one day just because.

Thanks for the suggestion DocJones. The system does not allow us to request more than one track at a time. The only thing we can do is decrease the wait time. This has been discussed before. Search the forums for this if you want to find out.

When creating a topic, please be descriptive with your subject.

*changed subject from "idea" to "Request More because of Short Tracks?"*

I do remember that I've seen a thread where the person was suggesting to have 2 requests possible per person: one less than 2 mn, the other more than 2mn.

As I was reading this thread I thought of something along the lines of a request system based on the length of a track, this works with some kind of time credit.

For example: you get 5 minutes of credit every 45 minutes (this period can depend on queue length etc.) and then you can request a track of 5 minutes. If you wait 90 minutes you can request a track of 10 minutes etc. The length of the requested track will be subtracted from your credit. The credit would only increase if people are logged in. It might be required to have a credit limit, otherwise people could stay logged in for a whole day without requesting and end up getting a really high credit.

Don;t you just Hate it when the tracks are so short ! ! !

I think the solution here is to have more "Suites" from scores available to pick. There, you might get 7-10 minutes of score music in one request, and that would be neat.....

As an example, the out-of-print Cinema Paradiso: The Classic Ennio Morricone has a track labeled "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST - Suite" that's 8:05 in length.

Now that's a great way to get your Ennio Morricone fix.....

I mean we all want to hear something more than the "Title Tracks", but things under 3:00 aren't as atisfying as 5 minutes of whomever.....

So, I say, let's search out and get as many performances in the form of Suites as possible. That would be a good option.

No one of my favourite tracks are castleflight of the unreal soundtrack. Or the tomb raider theme of the second movie: both 50 seconds

Resulting in a very long queue. If everyone starts picking 7+ minute tracks.

I find it very satisfying requesting a short track, and let other people request short tracks too. That way the stream is very varied and every one can pick more often what they want because of a short queue. And many others think like me. So are me and the others not part of the 'we' group?

I say lets keep the albums as it is now. Let everyone request what they like. Keeping the request etiquette in mind of course.
