A martial arts grandmaster once said to me:
"Patience is concentrated strength!"
Watching and waiting for a pot of water to boil takes patience. Place a pot of water on the stove and become impatient. Take it off when you think you have waited long enough and you have warm water. This is sufficient if you just want to wash your face.
If you are a bit more patient and persistent, wait until the water starts to bubble, (say at 211 degrees Fahrenheit), then you will have some real hot water that you can use to make soup. If you persevere just a bit longer than seems bearable, until the water reaches 212 degrees,...then you have steam! With steam, you can literally move mountains. In fact, with steam you can move just about anything. If you're getting just lukewarm results in your training or life, persevere. Eventually you'll reach your boiling point and really take off.
Hope that helped. |
But, with cold water, you can make iced tea...

it takes hot water to make iced tea, you still have to brew it first _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

lol
Iced tea was introduced at the St. Louis World's Fair in the 19th Century. It is still a southern staple. It also presented Tiffany's with a new problem - iced tea spoons, which they had to add to their line of silver ware for the southern stores. Even today if you order tea in the south, it will be served to you sweet and iced.
And no i didn't just now look all this up. It's part of my heritage. Both sides of my family descend from Jefferson Davis - don't even go there, one side was through marriage, and the two are so far apart at this point it wouldn't matter anyway. And on one side I am also a direct descendent of General Rufus Barringer and through marriage to General Stonewall Jackson yeah more then you wanted to know i'm sure. But it's my credentials for being a G.R.I.T.S. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

Then why do they sell cold brew ice tea bags in American stores (in the south)? |

for lazy people not from the south? those are gross, and no true southern girl would use them. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

So you're saying American non-southerners who make cold iced tea are in solidarity with the French!
I prefer the hot brewed kind myself. |

I also like the hot brewed kind but only on a cold day or if I have a cold myself (feels good on the throat). _________________ "Education's responsibility is to replace an empty mind with an open one" --Malcolm Forbes |
