Hi,
I logged in this morning, ready to enter some picks, only to see that the request queue was miles long (20+ picks) ... This was at 9AM CET, and around 45 people were listed as listening (in the top frame).
The reason for this being the request per hour limit that was probably stuck at 4 or 5.
If only this limit could be automatically updated in function of the number requests in the queue, this particular situation would not so often occur, right?
Anyway, it's just an idea... _________________ "By the time they had diminished from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect 'Hungry.'" -- Gary Larson |

I agree with SlowMo on this point. The length of the queue dissuaded me from picking.
Something that is automatic for the number of requests would be a very good idea indeed.

Whoa! That's a queue. Not sure if my request would play in the same hour or not anymore. Oh well, doesn't mean I won't keep listening and donating. |

I had the opposite problem at 4AM Pacific Standard time. There was nothing listen in the cue yet I was only allowed one request... durnit. |

What about this? A service that periodically sets the number of picks per hour, per person, according to this :
queue length 0-1: 5 picks
queue length 2-3: 4 picks
queue length 4-8: 3 picks
queue length 9-15: 2 picks
queue length 16+: 1 pick
or some such...

I think this is a good idea.

These are great ideas but are impossible right now.
Sometimes I can't win, too many picks, not enough picks. I'm trying me best to keep everyone happy. I wish there was some code that I could write that would automate the number of requests allowed. I'm still looking forward to the new version of the software I'm using to handle requests that was promised in March. For now, just hang in there. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Well, don't take this as an insult or anything, Jeric, but as an engineer I like to think that nothing is imposible...
We just need to find other solutions... What about giving one of the 'senior' members the rights/tools to set the number of picks per hour?
That way, you can sleep on both your ears, thinking about all those happy listeners and another problem solved... _________________ "By the time they had diminished from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect 'Hungry.'" -- Gary Larson |
