here's my tidbit of inside info: the all male acapella group chanticleer went to skywalker ranch about a year or so ago to record some songs for this film. the son of a very close friend sings for this group and she told me about it. don't know how many songs they did or even if they made it to the final cut but i've heard the group sing and they are GREAT!! it's amazing what they do with their voices. i plan on buying this st when it comes if for nothing more than their songs. _________________ Keep smiling. I heard the entire soundtrack last night so here's my little review:
***VERY MINOR SPOILERS***
From the first seconds after the opening I noticed how this one was going to be different. More like the original trilogy (and in some ways the recent Harry Potter). He uses the old themes throughout the soundtrack.
Imagine how Across the Stars would sound on the Schindler's List ST, that's track 2.
Other highlights include almost every other track.
Like the Duel-of-the-fates-like "battle of the Heroes" theme.Or the gorgeous "general Grievous", lots of fun.
The seven-years-in-Tibet like chantings of "Palpatines teachings".
or the chants in "Padme's Rumination", never heard that from JW, great!
And in the two last tracks we enter "A New Hope", same style and for the end credits the same music. (exept "battle of the heroes and "Qui-Gons funeral").
My favorite track is definitely the end credits. it doesn't end like the other prequels but with a lot of brass. After a great rendition of the throne room, you would think it's over but no, It's keep on going and getting louder. And then it finishes like A New Hope. I'll warn you, you'll get goosebumps.
For me this is the best John williams in a long time.
Phantom and Clones were a bit to "clean" for me so this is awesome. can't wait to see it all on the big screen.

sweet thx Tron:D _________________ If you have it you don't need it. If you need it you don't have it. You need it to get it and you certainly need it to get more of it. Which means you don't have it to begin with people just know. |
