Tue Feb 01, 2005 12:45 am Post subject: What Soundtrack has Eluded You? |
|
I have purchased about 150 soundtracks over the last couple of years. And I always find a couple that never make it in my collection. Yet, whenever I hear a track from the soundtrack, I always remind myself that I *must* purchase this one next. And time after time it never happens. I forget ... until the next time I hear a certain track and the process starts all over again.
The two examples I ran across tonight were "The Last of the Mohicans" and "Glory". I simply cannot believe that I do not have these in my collection yet.
I do the same thing with certain movies, but that's a whole other story.
Has anyone else done this with a soundtrack or two that they are fond of? |

Hello
I am far from amassing your kind of collection but to answer your question. The first ST that comes to my mind is "Portrait Of A Lady" , there are at least four others aswell. |

Well not truly a ST, but Unearthed - E.S. Posthumous

circleprovider, it happens to me all the time. Good thing that my friends know that I love soundtracks so they buy them for me (that's how I finally got the Last Samurai and King Arthur!). Still not in my collection and I wish I had bought already... well...
Van Helsing
Bourne Supremacy
the Incredibles
the Rock
Haibane Renmei and many more... _________________ Always wondered what a French photo album could look like?

I think I spend way to much money on ST's. I have around 126 ST's in my collection. And I keep reminding myself to get the ST's to Episodes 4, 5, and 6 of the Star War's Saga. I have them all on Record, but It doesn't have all that "unreleased" material. Well...there it is.

Hmm ... I'm thinking I'm going to have to make some requests from "Portrait of a Lady". I can't say that I've heard a single track. |

I'm gonna go with Brainstorm (thanks for reminding me I need to get that one). That and I keep meaning to pick up more stuff from Christopher Young, but always forget when I'm at the store. |

Well, I'm quite impressed how many soundtracks you all already have. My collection consists of maybe 30 OSTs. But I'm working on it.
Some soundtracks which have eluded me: Edward Scissorhand, Unbreakable and The 13th Warrior.
I've put them on my Amazon wish list, so that I don't forget them anymore. |

I've been on the hunt for the Ocean's 11 (and now 12) scores since I found out about them. They show up on ebay sometimes, but I'm not about to pay $50 or more for them. I'm patient, so I know I'll get them eventually.

What's wrong with the regular versions at retail stores? _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Nothing is "wrong" with them, but
1) The dialog gets old
2) They don't have all the score
3) The non-Holmes stuff is fine (so I own the retail version of O11, haven't bought O12 yet) but I really enjoy the original stuff.

I would really like to find The Shadow. It's awesome! _________________ "I wanna introduce you to a personal friend of mine. This is an M41A pulse rifle. Ten millimeter with over-and-under thirty millimeter pump action grenade launcher." |

I've been after it forever and I obtained some music from The Keep by Tangerine Dream about 4 years ago.
I've been really wanting to get the limited edition that TD officially put out there a few years ago. Only place it seems I can get it is ebay. I want it bad.
The other score I covet is The Outlaw Josey Wales by Jerry Fielding.
I have it on Vinyl but the CD has eluded me for ages. I just tried to bid on one of the editions with Fielding himself on the cover (not the original score, but indeed THE COMPLETE score). Got outbid in the last few seconds and it ended up going for $150.00 plus. Son of a bitch was still factory sealed too.
It breaks the heart. |
