Well that topic title should have made you curious.

Like I do every wednesday evening when I get back from the gym I take a beer from the fridge. After opening it the first thing I do is get on MSN and tease Saff with me drinking beer while she is still working :-)

So today trying to explain what kind of beer I was drinking I dug op the following picture:

This picture was taken on march 20th 2003. To our surprise we found out that I was bragging about having a beer to Saff in the chat on the back ground.

At the moment I still have
- the same monitor stand
- the same mic
- the same keyboard
- the same bottle opener attached to my desk
- the same AOL 'coaster'
- the same type of beer

in front of me while I type this.

If anyone of you is bored can you take a look and try to translate the rest of the site for us? :-)

You can find the original (1.1 MB) here

Don't ask...I couldn't motivate myself to do work. Here goes: (read bottom to top as shown on the screen)
-----------------------------------------------------
Cal: One of the experienced ones I might add. Very Happy

Cal: Hertog Jan. Best brand.

Saffron: Cal, What is the beer of choice?

Sarbear: Cheers.

Cal: Just did. Cheers all. Very Happy

Sarbear: Hold up your beer for us.

Cal: off to the fridge

Cal: I am gonna drink to that one!

Cal: rofl. I can't stop laughing now

Sarbear: Oh Cal. I picture you like that. Smile

Andres: LOL

Cal: picture ___ me

Cal: ___ ___ ___

You do seeem to have a definite thing about the emoticons Cal. Were you terrorized as a child by someone with a "Have a Nice Day" t-shirt on? Just curious...

I am just old fashioned :-)

I have to say that I am not *against* smileys, and I certainly try not to abuse them when I use them, but I do think they have a place. as a response mostlikely or to express a hard to "verbalize" emotion. outside of that I feel that the post should stand on it's own merit. There is no reason for example to put an embarased face next to the comment that you are embarased bvut to do so when you have just explained what you did as a shorter way of concluding that you were so embarased, that is cool. But atleast with the emoticons Cal you do not get a crick in your neck as you do with the old school smileys. ; - )

Maybe smiley's are overused because of ones invented like Mr. Green. What is he for anyway?

I'm sick, I'm holding my breath, or green with envy? Mr. Green

That's what I would say. Although, I don't think I'd ever use it.

There are so many smilies out there and when would you ever use them all? Like when would you ever use or ? People might think you're something, but then who knows. Maybe you just want to look or like a , who knows. If you ever come up with a good on how to use them effectively, let me know. I'm starting to get tired . I'm over to to grab a , picking up some on my way home (Hertog Jan, of course! ), and crash on the to relax. Whew! I think I might also need some to help me relax after all this work!
