|
All of our 130x130 pixel size album cover art is being converted to 200x200. As you may notice the decreased quality in the now playing. We are working on replacing all the album art in high quality. If you want to volunteer and send us 200x200 album covers that would help a lot and would be very much appreciated. This will take some time to get done. Thanks for your patience!
*edited to add below*
All new album art will be in 200x200 high quality. The album cover will not link directly to Amazon.com anymore. They will link to the Album Info pop-up. All of the 130x130 images in the old news will remain at 130x130. Thanks again!

And this is how JERIC will be known as the first ever to need cooling fans for his scanner. _________________ Who is General Failure and why is he reading my disk? |

Wow, that's a lot of work for you JERIC. How would someone go about helping?
However, we (VIPs) appear to now be getting some Amazon ad in the Now Playing box. Sometimes it is a small Amazon icon and 2 other album links, sometime it's a big animated Amazon ad.
I logged off, shutdown, restared, logged on, and I still have these new ads. _________________ "insert your own clever quote here.... I'm too lazy to do it." |

I get the ad too. How about a "Preferred membership" picture instead of an ad like l365 has JERIC? |

I'm working on the "ad" thing. I need some time to figure some stuff out on that. Please bare with it for now.
As far as the album art. I have been grabbing the best cover art available at Amazon.com, SoundtrackCollector, and Google Images. If there isn't an acceptable cover art then I scan it in myself (and submit the scan to Amamzon.com). I am 99.9% done with #'s and A's and I've only had to scan in a small percentage. My goal is to do a letter almost every day.
If anyone wants to help pick a letter in SST's playlist and grab the images from the various sources I mentioned above. You don't have to resize them or anything. I will do that through photoshop. Sometimes they need a little cropping and touch-ups. I'm also finding little things that need to be updated along the way so I'm killing a few birds here with one stone.
Thanks for your patience. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I will start with the M's and then move on to the S's. Both are pretty hefty. Is there a certain time frame? _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Please, at your leisure.
I'll tell you how I've been doing them so maybe it might make it more efficient for you. I've been browsing through the playlist with Tag&Rename, one folder at a time and getting the ASIN the pasting it in Amazon.com. If there is at least a 200x200 with decent quality I save it to the hard drive then move to the next one. If there isn't acceptable art I open highlight the album name (in FireFox) and right click then click "Search the Web" then click on the images link in google. You may have to narrow it down by ading a search term such as "Score" "Soundtrack" or the last name of the composer. SoundtrackCollector has pretty sharp images at around 300x300 pixels. I already have the ASIN in my clipboard so when you save the image paste the ASIN as the name of the image. You don't have to truncate the image name in Amazon. I will do that when I do the crop/touch-up edits.
Amazon tends to scan the outside of imports which may include extra stuff that blocks the actual cover. I stay away from those and look for a full cover scan or scan it myself.
Thanks a lot! _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Thanks Techo. Start with H's please. You can zip them up and either email them to either of us or if it's too big I can set up FTP for you. You're awesome! _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Count me in. Can you give me a couple of letters to work on?
I see that you have a "?" after several of Techo's and Jeca's. Shall I start with "L" and work my way up, or perhaps help in Saff's list? _________________ "insert your own clever quote here.... I'm too lazy to do it." |

I'll give you L for now. Since it may take you a while, we'll see what else you can take on after the L's are done. Thanks Tjoe! _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

phew, done with the "H"'s. I sent an email with a yousendit link to Jeric.
I took some images from Buy.com they have really nice high res scans of the ones Amazon had too little thumbails of. Of the many scans I took from other places, I used the ASIN for their file name. Double checked the file name so I hope there are no mistakes
So I guess I'll start on the "I" next.
edit:
p.s.
Should I resize the scans to 200x200 before sending them in?
Thanks. |
