I can create a Hisaishi/Kitano/ghibli forum on my website. What do you think? _________________ Pixie "Actually Tree, I wasn't referring to you as a dingus, but seems like you might just qualify as one now!" |

Jarinko Chie -> the movie... Never had a chance to see the TV series (not released in France)..
As for the Hisaishi/Kitano/Ghibli forum on your website, that would be cool (I don't know who the Boston Bruins are anyway ) but this is a lot of work, isn't it? _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |

Yeah it may be a lot of work. I am not sure yet. I see the forum being broader than just music and movies. Basically it could be whatever our hearts desire. _________________ Pixie "Actually Tree, I wasn't referring to you as a dingus, but seems like you might just qualify as one now!" |

::sigh:: I am such a Hisaishi noob. All I have seen is Laputa, Porco Rosso, and Spirited Away. I have not seen others and own no soundtracks. I'll never catch up. I enjoy reading what you have to say however, and I greatly the enjoy the music of the master. |

The fact that you appreciate Hisaishi and his work is good enough. We're all privelaged. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Thanks. And thanks to SST to introducing me not only to Hisaishi, but to the world of soundtracks. I guess I never really listened much to background music much during movies, but now I have a whole new appreciation. |

You are a welcome member of the club stuff! Start buying his music slowly. I would recommnd getting the double CD of Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away since it is around $20. You can't beat 2 cd's for the price of one! Are you in the US? Kikujiro is very cheap as well. _________________ Pixie "Actually Tree, I wasn't referring to you as a dingus, but seems like you might just qualify as one now!" |

Indeed.
Mmm, I ordered the 2006 Ghibli calendar as well, after reading articles on Nausicaa.net. It's very expensive but it looks so nice It's the first time I buy a ghibli goodie which is not dvd or cd...
I'm also tempted by the Howl DVD but the price stops me! _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |

The new R2 release of Howl? There are 2 or 3 versions out right? I am hoping the R1 comes out around Christmas so I can buy it for my son.
I just ordered 126 Pokémon figurines from Hong Kong for my youngest son. With Shipping it coest me $60! He loves Pokémon so he will flip out when he sees it. _________________ Pixie "Actually Tree, I wasn't referring to you as a dingus, but seems like you might just qualify as one now!" |

Aaargh, no, not Pokémon
The japanese R2 release of Howl, yes. Coming with english and french dubs & subs. Seems to be a very nice edition.
Dunno if we will get a release this year, but I doubt it will be as good. Nevertheless, we waited (for a long time) for Chihiro and Mononoke to be released in deluxe versions. It was worth the wait: these dvds are beautiful in their wooden cases and all!
So: I don't know yet whether I order the japanese version or not! _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |

Just received the Piano Stories IV CD. Cool!
Great album! It starts with the Howl's Moving Castle and then continues with original, heartwarming piano compositions.
My favorite tracks so far (I listened the CD only twice) are Spring and Birthday, but believe me the whole album is very, very good!
Thank you again for showing me where to find it at a good price, Tree! _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |
