Hi

I wanted to request a soundtrack for the SST playlist, but I wasn't sure if the CD had to be commercially available i.e. can be purchased directly from Amazon.

If the soundtrack can only be purchased from the Amazon marketplace either new or used, is that still OK?

It has to be commercially available (not a bootleg or award candidate release, etc.), but it doesn't have to come from a commercial site. If an album was commercially available but is out of print, obtaining it from ebay or something is OK. They key is that JERIC will not include anything that even hints of being illegal (at least in the eyes of a certain recording industry association).

*** Also, I moved this from Help to Playlist. ***

Thanks j2. I wasn't sure which forum to put this question in.

The soundtrack in question I have just posted as it was a commercial release.

Also thanks to nate who was invaluable in getting my first post up and running.

Legitimate releases that you might have in your own personal collection are also fine. Sometimes people donate them just because they want to share the music with others. Very Happy

It doesn't matter much where it came from (although you'll want to avoid obtaining it illegally, or course) as long as it is a legitimate commercial release. I'd guess if you have some form of written permission of the copywright holder something could be done, but A) that's not going to happen very ofter, and B) you'd definitely want to work that kind of issue directly with JERIC.
