It would be a great addition. Too bad it's so rare. Although, that's never stopped JERIC in the past. Maybe if amsterdam can fix this post we can get it added (although I'd suspect that this has been mentioned before. Too bad I'm to lazy...er...busy at work....to check).

Hasn't it ever occured to anyone that a "Cast Away" soundtrack would only be about seven minutes in length? That's why one was never released.
No matter, though. SST already has Silvestri's "Cast Away" score on one of the Verese Sarabande (sp?) anniversary albums. _________________ "You have been chosen to represent Earth in Mortal Kombat. Right Johnny Cage, I rejected this one already for the reasons you mentioned. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

It's probably the same music on the VS Anniversary album. _________________ "You have been chosen to represent Earth in Mortal Kombat. Be warned. I'm sure that's true, J_C, but then why would it be a full CD (assuming it is)?
Either way, what we already have is fine for SST.

Alan only wrote about 15 minutes of music for Cast Away, but since those were very important 15 minutes as heard in the movie, Varèse felt it would be cool to release a suite of it (the End Credits, 7:30 in length) along with other scores of movies by Bob Zemeckis with Alan to which they possessed the license to release, thus the Cast Away cd was released in 2001.
The other themes in that compilation pertain to the scores of Romancing the Stone, Back to the Future I, II & III, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Death Becomes Her, Forrest Gump, Contact and What Lies Beneath.
The Varese Anniversary Collection which is at SST, only has a small snippet of the Cast Away theme (3:44 in length).
This is the original cover art for it and it's not out of print in any way.
And the right Amazon link:
Cast Away
No sound clips are provided.
I'd say there's no need at all to add this one since the Varèse compilation does a good job of representing the main theme for it and most of the other albums (with the exception of Death Becomes Her are already here. _________________ The good people sleep much better at night than the bad people.
