Here's the point: SST has a great community environment where you can make suggestions, which may or may not be taken into account. Rouge mucked up the process by acting out anger in the heat of the moment. I think at this point he has learned his lesson.

Many times JERIC and the admins test things out to see how they work. Sometimes it works out great, sometimes it is not so good. If you don't like something, follow the proper channels and don't act like a Donald Dingus.

That's all very fair and reasonable and . . .

Donald Dingus? Embarassed

Well, anyway, if the lesson you want me to learn is that the chat is not for complaints, then, yes, you are correct, I did not know that. And now I do.

That's the problem with unwritten rules, I guess . . . or did I just skim that section of the manual? Razz

Thur had even told me to post in the forums the previous day (or the previous Friday maybe, I don't recall). I should have known to just stay out of the chat.

Wait a minute . . . Donald Dingus . . . ? Razz

Ah, so this Dingus thing is in fact a rite of passage of sorts?

It can now be truthfully said that I have arrived?

I have faced Cocles in a thread and been called Donald Dingus!

Somebody queue up You Got the Touch! Razz

Nah, Cocles hasn't really unloaded on you, Rogue. So I wouldn't say you've "faced" him, you've merely experienced his gaze for the briefest of moments.

See his Donald Dingus post (as linked above by Pixie) for an idea of what a real Cocles attack looks like.

Aw, I missed Cocles and Pixie. Sad

Too much posting to read it all. But it's Jeric's station and he makes the rules w/ the input from admins/mods. You complain either way - if you get to request often, queue goes up so high no one gets to hear their songs. If you don't get to request often you complain you don't get enough request in although you do actually get to hear your request.

For what it's worth, and I know I'm very much in the minority here, but I have never complained about the queue length.

A long queue does not bother me. Unless, you know, it's all Fiddler on the Roof or something. Wink

But your point is taken: you can't please everyone, which is true.

*lights candles and incense* Let the healing begin...

I remember when I wasn't VIP and I used to get pissed about not being able to request more, even though I was donating about $10 a month. Then one day I wised up and thought "Hmmmm...what if I just donate 5 months worth in advance and then I'll get VIP status for a year." I was extremely happy with the new VIP world.

Now I have been VIP for over a year and I'm so glad I made that initial donation. I often don't use up all my requests, and i try to request shorter songs to keep the queue short as well, but every once in a while i have to request something from that fun loving dreaming frog album, lol.

P.S. What would SST be w/o Cocles and some of us other old-timers who remember the good ole days?
