Rank is gainned by the # of posts you have made. you can check the -FAQ- for more info Here _________________ If you have it you don't need it. If you need it you don't have it. You need it to get it and you certainly need it to get more of it. Which means you don't have it to begin with people just know. |

Whoa there sparky. First post and already shooting for higher rank.
First, under the Main menu you'll see a link for FAQ. From there, you can follow (two, for some reason) links to the forum FAQ. There you'll find a question about ranks, answered as follows:
The FAQ wrote: |
How do I change my rank?
In general you cannot directly change the wording of any rank (ranks appear below your username in topics and on your profile depending on the style used). Most boards use ranks to indicate the number of posts you have made and to identify certain users, e.g. moderators and administrators may have a special rank. Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your rank, you will probably find the moderator or administrator will simply lower your post count.

Now, please pay particular attention to the last section. Also, ranking here is fairly meaningless. You don't get any special privileges or anything like that. You won't even get the respect of your peers. The way you do that is to contribute to the SST community by participating in the forums with meaningful posts, chatting with other listeners, and generally having a good time. However, you'll find that once you accomplish those goals your rank will somehow magically have gone up.
Also, you may want to read the newbie FAQ. Some of the FAQ info is a bit dated, but that one will give you a sense of the community here.
And, you may want to look at some of the announcements and stickies in the forums. There's one called "Forum Rankings Explained" that might have been helpful in answering your question.
Oh, and watch out for the sarcasm. It's friendly, but some folks don't seem to catch that.
Welcome to the SST forums.
