I have to admit I did a double-take the first time this album played as well. (Thought maybe I was on EFM there for a second )
Hmmm, well I guess we have several options ….
We could edit the album cover by using the blur method:
Or we could go with the pixelated method:
Or there’s the ever-popular black censor box:
Or we could just put some clothes on her:
Seriously though, I don’t have a problem with it. It is not gratuitous, and as you said, LadyI, “.. perfectly in character with the Story of O”. |

Ahem... I did raise my eye brow a bit when I saw the cover even though I come from a liberal Scandinavian country... I wasn't offended but I was just a bit surprised to see the cover at SST... (and I must say that the music is quite nice and that counts the most IMHO.)
I wouldn't mind blurring the cover a bit... Of the methods Twopop brings up, b) (pixelation), c) (the black box) and d) (the bra ) would just draw the viewer's attention more.

I personally am not offended, but mayhap someone would be, and it would be downright unAmerican of me not to bring it their attention. |

All we need is to run a bit belated 1999 Cover of the year contest _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Bumping this thread to talk about the Iron Sky score. There are some piece of dialogs here that are sometimes... hard to listen to, especially if you're german.
We've talked about the 'Sieg heil' in track 14 in chat for exemple, but there are others. _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

Just leave it alone.
And to anyone worrying about not understanding the German dialogue: trust me, you haven't missed much. _________________ "Welcome to the paranoia club; cheapest fees in the universe and membership lasts forever."

I'm not a fan of Iron Sky score in general. If there is a decision to delete some tracks from that album I will be OK with it. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

MP, I think you can extend that in general.
as more and more movies have lower values and more
' parental advised' dialogues and lyrics this will automatically influence the level of the music and songs being available for requesting.
Overall I think that , with the uprise of lots of younger composers , the quality of soundtracks is deminishing fast.
I wonder if others can go along with my remark or have siimilar thoughts or oppose that in some way.
It's something I'm quite curious about and a topic that surfaces more and more in panel discussions. So, what's the general SST crew opinion on this? _________________

My personal opinion is that the sound of scores is sure changing and the sound of SST is also different now than it used to be 9 years ago when I joined this community.
I can't say I like everything I see (for example I'm a bit worried by the amount of "artificial" music I see in the business for example - I mean any kind of electronically produced, ready patterns, parts of music, you keep in your computer to "compose" your music. As well as I'm a bit concerned by growing numer of vocal tracks in SST library), but I'm not sure about the word "deminishing".
Dutchbat's comment reminds me of what I sometimes hear in my profession - from older lawyers. They say that because of the young generation (even younger than myself) the quality of the service provided by lawyers is deminishing fast.
I know what they mean, but on the other hand I'm sure that life will go on and more or less things will stay the same. I mean there will be better and worse lawyers and the artistry of my profession will survive.
And also - no matter what circumstances we will see in the future - there will be better and worse composers and there will be great new music out there too.
And I hope that even though today you can compose your music by quickly putting ready "blocks of sounds" together in your computer (which btw helps to cope with the pressure of the industry to compose music in very short time), there will always be scores recorded by live orchestra, playing sounds and melodies coming from composers' hearts and minds and not just from computer's sound banks.
So, yeah, I know what Dutchbat means and I understand his point of view, but colour me an optimist
And I'm perfectly off topic here I think. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

To which values do you refer? And by whose standards? This sounds a little judge-y to me, though you may not have meant that. |
