Well, what a storm this bit of news/publicity seems to have stirred up! Anybody else heard anything about it? I came across it at cinemusic.com and then found it at soundtrack.net too.
It's also reported on the simpsons channel website. But on Zimmer's own site, although it is announced on the 23rd, it then seems to be retracted 'as a joke' on the 24th (or is it the retraction that was a joke?)
So what do you guys think? Is it an early April fool? Or is it straight up?
If it's real - what a choice. I would have gone the Silvestri or Giacchino route. |

Why isn't Danny Elfman on the list???? 
I mean, he "invented" the Simpson music, so why the heck don't they hire him to complete his work...????

This is an unconfirmed assignment. The deal is still in negotiations.
Probably Elfman isn't on any list because he's not interested in revising something he did just for the fun of it in 1989.
Things always change, though. 
Oh... and btw, that's not Hans' own site, it's a fan site.

Ooops. Sorry on two counts there: 1) for not even thinking about Danny Elfman when I was mentioning my list of composers and 2) for not getting my facts right about the Zimmer site. I apologise and my researcher will of course be fired forthwith.
Francel, where have you heard that the assignment is still in negotiations? |
