JJ2005, I agree that the piano themes in Road to Perdition are fantastic. I also like the piano in Lemony Snicket, Haunted, Tom & Viv, Jane Eyre by John Williams, and My Life by John Barry. I'm sure there's lots more but those piano melodies come to mind first.

Just as a quick contribution off the top of my head. I love the SecondHand Lions piano theme by Doyle, wonderful stuff. I am sure there is much more that I like, but that is one that popped into my head that does not look like it has been brought up yet.

Did anyone said : the sadame piano version from X Clamp ?

In my opinion, many hisaishi themes, but i looooove "Clair de lune" of Debussy (used in Ocean Eleven)

Also the Hungarian Rhapsody from the "Shine (complete classics)" album

This is all i think about for the moment but all the tracks you had mentionned are great !

Thomas Newman knows how to use the piano.

I also really liked John Williams' piano in his iTunes Memoirs of a Geisha session with Yo-Yo Ma.

Nowadays I definitely must add to my list:

Since this post was brought up again...

I have really been into an up and coming composer named Ryo Kunihiko.

Some of the piano tracks I really like are:

Silhouette of a Breeze (Piano solo) - Victorian Romance Emma

Yasou Tsuki no Shizuku (The Twelve Kingdoms, anime), Piano Memories - Any and all tracks

I wish I could provide samples but there aren't any on the net and we don't have the soundtracks here. Sorry!

I have posted some sample toons for your enjoyment!

Nobuo Uematsu will be always my favourite author of piano melodies. I even started to learn to play piano, because of his music:

Aerith´s theme
Tifa´s theme
Cosmo Canyon
To Zanarkand
