Dragon Age Inquisition by Trevor Morris
Epic 39 piece soundtrack with great themes. Dwarfs soundtracks like H3 and Interstellar easily.
In Flanders' fields by Jef Neve
Impressive score for TV drama series on WW1, will soon be sent to SST
Dagen zonder lief/Helaasheid der dingen by Jef Neve (for SST upload)

Dutch, "Sahirblau" is the second part in a German YA trilogy, and Philipp F. Kölmel, who scored the first part ("Rubinrot"), returned for this movie.
I didn't think the score for "Rubinrot" was all that innovative or interesting, but, like the movie, it slowly grew on me. I guess you could put it somewhere between a lighthearted Desplat and Horner's scores for 90's kids movies. There's not a special type of sound going through the entire album, except for a slight overuse of strings, but I've sort of grown fond of each track individually. The same thing has now happened with "Saphirblau", although it took less time because I knew what to expect  .
In a way, it reminds me of "The Three Musketeers" (albeit with less heavy action cues), which, in my view, is not too bad a thing. |

Just purchased 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies - Deluxe Edition' on iTunes. It's become my favourite of the three albums. Some really great horn lines, and I can't wait to see how the different tracks fit into the movie. |

Made myself a little present (with the help of my sweet girlfriend) and expanded my CD collection a bit
The irony is that I already had the regular Jerry Goldsmith albums and of the Williams Hook score for years now, but complete is always better ^^

I got a very nice gift from a fellow SST member - SilverRaindrops!
The title of the score is "Der Geschmack von Apfelkernen" and the music is by Sebastian Pille.
Here is how the cover art looks like:
It's a subtle and very pleasant score with lots of piano sounds supported by other classical instruments. Good music for quiet, relaxing Sunday afternoon like today. It suits my taste and fits my collection very well!

The Pille score is nice Mol. Checked it already.
Pointed out to some nice asian scores and composers by IMFCA and SST-member Jon Broxton I had couple of days browsing through a rich world of old-fashioned good scores (like Hollywood used to have)
Of course some came my way.

Great score for which this SST member is in the race for an Oscar. On its way to SST
Healing by David Hirschfelder
Great score from this Australian composer for a film starring Hugo Weaving and lots of birds
When Marnie was there by Takatsugu Muramatsu
The first post-Miyazaki movie from the Ghibli studios. They also choose to
have a new composer on board. Cherish your Umebayashi or Hisaishi, but this is the new kid on the block with a great talent.
Chi no Shio by Takatsugu Muramatsu
his latest project with a fantastic score for this Japanese TV series
Makete Katsu another gem by Takatsugu Muramatsu
Supercondriaque by Klaus Badelt
Fun score to the french comedy from Dany Boon. Gift from Klaus.

Nice additions Dutch, especially the Muramatsu's
I do like Marnie's score a lot, quite melancholic and a very good fit to Ghibli's latest (and likely last!) movie. I do not know his other scores but I'm very curious now

I got a bunch of special orders standing out.
The first one arrived last week:
Birlesen Gönüller by Greek composer Evanthia Reboutsika
Brilliant score to a Turkish lovestory, sized like Doctor Zhivago and alikes.
Had to order it in Greece as it was not available on digital providers.
It is in my TOP15 of Best Scores 2014.
Beautiful themes and 3 perfectly matching folksongs (2 dances from the Northern Kurdish area and a Russian Militairy March song by choir)
It doesn't happen that much that the music enhances the image so strong, but this one got me emotional in the cinema.

The " song of the sea" is a great album MP.
Typical Bruno Coulais IMO.
I loved the French version of the end title song.
I got another two albums from my backorder in:
 
Viy by Anton Garcia. Russian 3D actionpic. based on the Gogol story.
Garcia is another talented Spanish composer, now living and working in Russia.
He created an overwhelming orchestral score with large orchestra and choir and did a terrific job on orchestrating.
Where the likes of all modern Hollywood composers need synths and drum loops, he got a full orchestra doing all that in a superb way.
On my TOP15 Best Scores list of 2014.
La Cieca di Sorrento by Carlo Savina
Classic Italian 'cloak and dagger' movie with a swirling score by Italian Maestro Savina. We should have more of those older Italian works in the SST database.
