Kind of an interesting thread. Looks like I'm in the same boat with many others! My 1st was A New Hope the 2 disc edition back in the 1990's. (not sure the exact date) Followed by Ghostbusters, Disney, and Lord of the Rings. Funny.

I still listen to those as well!

My first soundtrack was.... I think it was Star Wars. I'm not sure because I wore out my father's vinyl record of The Alamo. He bought us Star Wars, eventually I bought myself Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

My dad had a vinyl Star Wars when i was a kid and I absolutely loved stargazing while it played... I've loved scores and soundtracks ever since.

I forgot about them during my teens (except for maybe some Disney musicals) and then fell in love with Pearl Harbor - and now I have more soundtracks than almost any other genre.

Ow going back deep in history right?
Well on vinyl it was 'Once upon a time in the west' by Ennio Morricone. The best sold album for filmscore, stood over a year in the charts. I guess many people my age have that one in archive.
Shortly after followed by albums like StarWars, Grease and Saturday Night Fever. (Well those got me started Smile )
After i got my cd-player, the first cd I obtained was given as a present from my parents and was "Out of Africa" by John Barry

As A kid I got "mary Poppins" as a vinyl - guess that counts as First.

The first Vinyl I bought by myself was Star Wars (1977) - I loved it!

The first CD was Clockwork Orange (present) and 2001 - a Space Odyssey (bought on a flea market) and Out of Africa (first new ST-CD) and from the on I was hooked. Smile
