So the third movie came out with yet another composer writing the score. Whose is better?

Did not like Kamen's score, Ottman's was better, Powell's was the best IMO.

I quite liked Ottman's main theme.....but Powell rules the roost!

I enjoyed Kamen and Powell's X-men scores, but I voted for Powell's. I think Powell did a great job building upon Ottman's X-2 sound and added some new, really memorable themes with strong brass and choir. One of the best scores of the summer!

Defenitly Powell's X3 score, I've listened to both the soundtracks of X1 and X2 but I don't own them. I just recently bought Powell's X3 score, amazing.

The first one was ok, definitely not one of my favs. I really like the second one, and from what I caught during the movie the third one is the best. ^^

Powell's is the best score this year thus far. I love the fact that he has a better use of choir in his works compared to Ottman's restraintd sound. I did vote for Ottman's because he broke the his "horro music" mold by taking Kamen's themes and turning them into sweeping themes thereby silencing skeptics.

When Superman rolls around this month, I'm sure Ottman would realize he could have done way better on X2.

I prefer Powell's score for my listening pleasure, but how would he have done without ottman's version? Hmm. . .

I reckon he would have done more. The only reason that Powell's score has a "flavour" of Ottman's stuff would have been because of Studio pressure to make it sound similar! I just think it's great that Powell did a score with minimal electronics. I hope to hear more large scale orchestra scores from him.

I always get a kick when reading Morpheus' posts because he's a "Morpheus" with a "Jack Sparrow" for his picture. That's funny considering Morpheus is a humorless prophet and Sparrow is a hopeless pirate.

I didn't really like any of the X-Men scores very much. I don't recall ever thinking at any point in any of them: "Gee, this is a good score." They all worked well enough, I guess, but that's about it.

I did listen to Kamen's X1, but I never heard score from X2 and X3.

I'm a huge fan of Kamen's score (oh my god the "Logan & Jean's Love Theme" is a pure beauty) but Powell's score is now my favorite.

Ottman... sigh... except the Main Titles (which strongly looks like Henri Mancini's Lifeforce Main Theme by the way...), the score is boring and empty.

I just bought the X3 score and it got my vote. While I think "Logan and Rogue" from X-Men is the best cue from all three soundtracks, and I do like the main theme from X2, the overall score from X3 is superior IMO. There is an epic quality to it I really like.
