Wow it seemed ages since I bought a non-soundtrackcd. But 3 rockabilly loving guys from Berlin have formed as they call it a voc'n'roll band.
Their breakthrough cd contains rock'n'roll versions of recent hits like "Angels", "Umbrella" and so on.
They're touring Europe festivals this season.
Makes me smile whenever I hear them.

A visit to Rotterdam on sundaymorning got me encountering a cd that was on my wishlist from the moment it was released and that was reasonably prized.
DRAGON SONGS by Chinese Masterpianist
Lang Lang
Beautiful Chinese classical music on it. _________________

Almost all the CDs my husband and I buy are sountracks. I think maybe the last non-soundtrack CD we got was either Lady Gaga (*embarrassed*) or The Decemberists. |

Thanks! And the Decemberists are pretty awesome. We got to see them when they came to Chicago in October last year, and it was a really great show. |

Last night I got the CD Adelitas Way - the first CD from band Adelitas Way. They are pretty good and I was able to meet the band and have them sign the CD so that's a plus! _________________ Dream as if you'll live forever, live as if you'll die tomorrow. - James Dean |

Last year, my husband and I took a cruise in the Mediterranean. The onboard music was largely a disappointment. Lots of synthesizer and mangled English lyrics. But there was one group that developed quite a following. There was a vocalist, a bass, and two guitar players (one of whom was unreasonably cute.) From hearing them sing "Honeysuckle Rose" over and over, I christened them "The Sugartones." Turn's out they're really called Frequenze Rétro.
After coming home, I checked out their then woefully underdeveloped website and saw that they were selling a CD for €10. I wanted to buy it, to support them, seeing as how they're just starting out and all. Of course, there would be shipping, and they only accepted payment via wire transfer, so the whole thing would cost me something like $20, plus necessitate going to the bank... Yeah. That didn't work for me.
But now the album, with more tracks than previously indicated, is on Amazon.com for download! So I got it. And here it is:

I wanted to donate this album to 1980s.fm but by mistake I let it shipped to my home. Ordered another album to let it sent to 1980s.fm and keep this one in my own collection:

haha figures Angel, but you're right it's no soundtrack. however there are so called st's on SST that ain't st's at all.
I still think that a major minus-point. _________________
