FIMUCITÉ X TRAVELS TO SPACE

- The Tenerife International Film Music Festival will be held from September 23rd to October 1st, 2016.

- Tickets for the concert “Space Opera: The music of the stars” are already on sale.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife, December 14th, 2015.- The Tenerife International Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ) will hold its 10th anniversary, and it is preparing an intense schedule for September 23rd to October 1st 2016, thanks to the sponsorship of Cabildo Insular de Tenerife, the Canary Islands Government and Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council. The main theme of the festival promises a fantastic journey through the music for the most important science fiction productions, from “Star Wars” to “Star Trek”, performed at the concert “Space Opera: The music of the stars”.

In these 10 years, FIMUCITÉ has become a landmark festival among the film music events in the international calendar.

This festival will offer two symphonic concerts, performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and the Tenerife Film Choir, conducted by the composer and director of the festival, Diego Navarro. Both concerts will be held in Auditorio de Tenerife “Adán Martín”. The concert on Friday, September 30th, will be focused on the best music composed for the science fiction genre. Tickets are already on sale at the box office or at the website www.auditoriodetenerife.com.

Moreover, the successful “The Pop Culture Band” will be back at FIMUCITÉ X. This pop rock band has performed, in the two previous years, “Back to the 80s” and “Back to the 90s”, these innovative shows have made the audience sing and dance to the best film music songs from these past decades.

Besides, FIMUCITÉ continues its cooperation with the Conservatory of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, organizing a concert which always aims to give the young students a unique experience of being on stage and show the audience their extraordinary skills.

Furthermore, the Tenerife International Film Music festival has signed an agreement with Televisión Española, that becomes the official channel of FIMUCITÉ for the following four years, shooting, post producing and broadcasting the festival’s symphonic concerts. In the past three tears, TVE has already shot and broadcasted, regionally, nationally, and internationally, the concerts performed by the Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife and the Tenerife Film Choir, held in Auditorio de Tenerife “Adán Martín”.

Thus, TVE will soon broadcast FIMUCITÉ IX concerts: “The French Connection”, an unforgettable trip through the scores of the greatest French film music composers, and “Back in time, 1985, live!”, a concert devoted to a unique year for film music.
