Well, maybe I'm going too far by making two requests in a week, but I saw this movie three weeks ago, and the music was great. It was a very symphonyc work, with wonderful strings, just incredible. I didn't expected something like that.

The only thing is that the only edition is Japanese, so it comes with the libretto in that language.

The English title is The Hidden Blade, and the original is Kakushi-ken: Oni No Tsume

(It has one review, a very good one)

It comes with the Soundtrack of The Twilight Samurai (Tasogare Seibei), also a wonderful score.

You can see the tracklist at Soundtrack Collector:

I really like the dramatic overture and end reprise of a Hidden Blade but it's a score that's best appreciated by those who saw the film. It's a nice addition if you want to expand the number of Asian scores available at SST.

It's still available at CD Japan.

If you're curious, there's clips of Hidden Blade at Screen Archives.

I think the sound on this is still better than the clips of Jidaigeki Trilogy Best Selection, which has selections from Love and Honor, Hidden Blade, and Twilight Samurai.

This was a very fine film, indeed, with a very worthy score.

I definitely voted yes on this one, I am definitely in favor of more japanese composers work being represented here at SST.

And, it may be worth considering the compilation album that has this score and two others by Tomita:
