Once again, I'm floating a random idea, to be discarded if perfectly silly or impossible.
Is is possible to keep track of an individual user's top ten requests? It could be on their profile pages. No album covers, just a list and the number of times they've requested it. It might be interesting to see what some people's favorites are.
Or not. I know JERIC is busy. Complaining I'm not, heaven knows. Just writing a dissertation and SO BORED! I am bugging people in the forums. |

I think that's a cool idea. As long as users could opt out of displaying that info publicly. You know, for those conspiracy-theory-big-brother-phobics out there. _________________ "If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician. I often think in music. Can be done in theory.
That is all I want to say about this topic :-) |

Man, that is a really cool idea. I wish we had the time to develop it right away. Perhaps one day we'll have more advanced member profile pages. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

For the same idea: more advanced member profile pages:
the member can maybe choose his favorites himself. I just discovered the site 2 days ago and I already had a crush on 2 complete unkown tracks to me:
Vagrant Story (I don't rember which track) & Witch Hunter Robin -Vol 1 (Flame). If there is a little button "add to my favorites"(or something like it, when it is on the air. so that it is easier to request again or even to find again to purchase.
I can not put the amazon.com link every time in my favorites of IE. Or I have not always a bic at hand. |

This is an excellent idea that would even further enhance the Your Request and Top 100 features at SST.
Worth bumping up to the top again. _________________ "After dark all cats are leopards." - Native American Proverb |

Holy Cow! That is cool! I don't remember requesting half of that stuff! Now I have to request some of them again. |

Yes, I saw that yesterday, and it's great. But LadyInque also suggested two other features:
1. Viewing other member's lists.
2. Viewing the number of times a track has been requested
Right now, for example, I cannot see LadyInque's request history, only my own, and I can't see how many times I requested a particular track.
I just thought these were worthwhile ideas to build on the terrific features (both the Your Requests and Top 100) we now have. _________________ "After dark all cats are leopards." - Native American Proverb |

Like Jeric said in the "Your Requests" thread we were looking for ideas on how to improve that module. Before the release we talked about adding the functionality to search/view other users request history. After all, there is a privacy issue involved here so we decided to keep it simple for now and add new features when we had something more to work with. Just to keep things organized I'm locking this thread. Please continue to post your suggestions in the Your Requests thread. _________________ Who is General Failure and why is he reading my disk? |
