ok,yes,that's me,i don't like much to listening the scores of movies,games,anime etc,before watching the movie,anime or playing the game.
soundrtacks inspiration music comes from movies,anime,video games,etc,they aren't "solo composers albums".
In that way,when i need to decide if a score is good or not,i listening and feel it while watching the movie,you are crazy if you make an opinion about a score only by listening the cd,without listening too "within the movie first...
But,ok,there some music i've listening for the first time without knowing the movie,anime,game,etc,well,it was great,but i feel that is like another thing",other felling and something is missing.I still belive that this kind of music,by hearing it for the first time whithin the movie,video games,anime,etc,is the best way for enjoy it.

Excellent point, YoKaMo. I think you are right on.
Many cues undeservedly get complaints from people when they play because they were never meant to be separate from the visual medium. This is particularly true of underscore tracks. Once I've seen the film, I have a lot more appreciation for what the composer was trying to do. |
