No particular reason for this poll. They just pop into my head for no rhyme or reason. Just curious.
As much as I find that Into The West provides a moving conclusion to the LOTR trilogy score, my fav is May It Be. Shoulda won the Best Song Oscar. _________________ "After dark all cats are leopards." - Native American Proverb |

My List:
1. May It Be
2. Into The West
3. Gollum's Song
I still get goose bumps when I hear the songs by Enya and Annie Lennox.

"Gollum's song" for me (but beating "May it be" by really narrow margin) _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Gollum's Song without a doubt
Great lyrics, great performance!
I also like Into the West, that would be my second choice. _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |

They are all wonderful, but "May It Be" is my favorite. Enya's voice is like an angel! _________________ "Diaper backward spells repaid. Think about it." ~ Marshall McLuhan |

I'm not sure what my favorite is. Maybe "May it Be," because I think Annie Lennox is at the edge of her range in "Into the West" and strains to hit the high notes. I find that distracting.
I must say that I cannot stand "Gollum's Song." I've never liked it; I find it hard to listen to. I know what they were going for. Maybe they succeeded. But I don't like it. It's okay to be weird, but I think the song abuses the privilege. |

"Into the West," though I enjoyed "May it Be" almost as much.
I think "Gollum's Song" was a tad too dissonant for me... instead of pretty it was unsettling. Now, that fits the purpose of the song and matches the character that's supposedly "singing" it, but I wouldn't turn it on to relax or anything. It is sad, though... great lyrics. |

May it be is my fave for listening. Although Into the West has a wonderful poignancy, I agree with LadyInque that the vocal strain cuts into my enjoyment. |

I'd rather vote for "Gollums Song", it has the best atmosphere and is more interesting regarding musical expression. _________________ If our music survives, which I have no doubt it will,

Too much of a LOTR book fan to really like the movies but I really did like 'May it be'. Love Enya's music. _________________ 'It was irritating to me that I should need money. I shouldn't need it.' Ed, The January Man |

I love Into the West so very much. I liked Gollum's Song as well, but it happened to be released right about the time that my world seemed to be falling apart, and I started thinking bad things when I played it. Horribly depressing song...I just can't listen to it anymore _________________ When in danger or in doubt, run in circles, scream and shout. |
