Yeppers! I was waiting. I missed being VIP.. I know I could always do the Amazon card, but was a hold out. Missed VIP I can tell you.

Aw, so now the lowly non-VIPs don't get to see their request history? That's too bad, because that was how I kept track of when I could request again. Back to pen and paper, it seems. |

Well, since I didn't even know that was an option, I doubt I'll miss it.

I'm all for the new system and hope it will alleviate some of the qwerks with the queue. Thanks Jeric, you'll have my monthly VIP support. Cheers! _________________ "It won the Academy Award...for best movie ever made" -- Ricky Bobby on Highlander |

i think it has pros and cons. pro, it gets more people to be VIP, make a little money, and all the other good stuff said before, but on the other hand the non vip's are kinda left out in the cold as far as making a request. ah well, ittle be fine. _________________ Rob Wilson

"Make money" connotes making a net profit. Not the case here. As SST & DFM grow, expenses keep expanding and increasing. We continue to have more people... and people expect more.

Unfortunately that is the downside. But Jeric has tried his very best to make it easier for people to be able to support the station thru VIP. Is $4.99 per month unreasonable? Of course some people have no discretionary funds whatsoever. But they can still listen for free 24/7 and request as well!! The vast majority of SSTers probably spend $4.99 at least once a month on an occasional coffee latte or beer or Big Burger Meal - all of which give about 15 minutes of enjoyment. SST gives you 43,000+ minutes from 46,000 tracks. imho - that is some bargain! And calorie free.

Not to mention fat free! And Sugar Free.... but it does taste a little bland, kinda like cardboard.
Personally I think it's a much better system than what we had before - that was too confusing. At least this way you *know* where your money is going (with the L365 model, who knows what goes on there).
I wish I could say I'm signing on, but it's just a bad time of the year...

umm..well I cant agree entirely .. Most chocolate has lots of fat and suga<r in it....
and I tend to eat a lot of chocoalte while listening to SST....
I know most of you would say, its my own fault, right? well I know, i really know.. BUT .. it feels better to have someone else to blame, he he
Spoiler: kidding of course |

Eh, so I wait two hours for my request to come around...no biggie. I only listen every now and then as a grad student when I just need something else than whatever I happen to have. I might consider the VIP thing in the future if I find myself around the computer more often listening to stuff. |

RUKA, I just wanted to say that I love your avatar! Meeko is so cute. My family had a mother racoon living under the deck for a few years, and we called her Meeko. Wrong gender, but whatever. |

So glad Meeko doesn't speak human talk...that was an earlier consideration when they were creating the film...he turned out great the way he is, and that's why I like him too.
Twopop, near Binghamton...any particular reason why? |

Hey, I noticed that the donation board is back! What's up with that? Were there not enough VIPs, or is this just a way to let non-VIPs donate what they'd like to? |

I would absolutely LOVE to answer this question, but I will give JERIC, the admins, or mods the first shot at it. *bites tongue*
