|
Hello I'm new here ... I'm doing a movie and i need some sounds in the middle eastern style...
I'm searching for names of middle easter epic soundtracks or containing tracks with arab tonalities, in the sense of :
[UPDATED LIST]
* 13th Warrior(Jerry Goldsmith)
* Mysteries of Egypt(Sam Cardon)
* Black Stallion/Black Stallion Returns(Coppola/Delerue)
* Wind and the Lion (Goldsmith)
* The Four Feathers (James Horner)
* Jesus of Nazareth ( Jarre )
* Ararat ( Danna )
* Stargate(David Arnold)
* Passion of the Christ(John Debney)
* Last temptation of the Christ(Peter Gabriel)
* The mummy ( from Goldsmith )
* Prince of Egypt ( Zimmer )
* Kingdom of Heaven
* Laurence of Arabia ( Jarre )
* The Mummy returns ( Silvestri )
* Children of Dune (Brian Tyler)
* Gladiator ( Zimmer )
* The Cell ( Shore )
* Rome ( Jeff Bell)
* The Gospel of John ( Danna)
* Stargate Atlantis(Joel Goldsmith)
* Stargate SG-1(Joel Goldsmith)
* Mists Of Avalon(Lee Holdridge)
* Dracula 2000 (Marco Beltrami )
* Baraka (Michael Stearns)
* Exotica (Mychael Danna)
* Kama Sutra (Mychael Danna)
* Monsoon Wedding (Mychael Danna)
* The Rabbit-Proof Fence (Peter Gabriel)
* Warriors of Heaven and Earth -A.R. Rahman (Indian influence)
* Hidalgo James Newton Howard
* Dune - Graeme Revell
* Battlestar Galactica Season 2 - Bear McCreary (mishmash of Celtic, Japanese taiko drums, Middle eastern woodwinds)
... etc like those but not those, gimme other titles please. Everybody tells me what crosses his mind.
I need something ORCHESTRAL, SYMPHONIC, lots of emotions, sincere, EPIC, with CHORUS if possible , and ARAB, if possible not before the 70's...
The best exemple for me is probably STARGATE, so what looks like the most to this awesome soundtrack would be welcomed ...
Thanks a lot !!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you're looking for more Middle-Eastern sounding tracks, not exactly Oriental/Asian tracks. Hope this helps.
Added:
13th Warrior - Jerry Goldsmith
Mysteries of Egypt - Sam Cardon (he's been listening to Stargate)
Black Stallion/Black Stallion Returns - Coppola/Delerue
Warriors of Heaven and Earth -A.R. Rahman (Indian influence)
Hidalgo - James Newton Howard
Dune - Graeme Revell
Syriana - Alexandre Desplat
Battlestar Galactica Season 2 - Bear McCreary (mishmash of Celtic, Japanese taiko drums, Middle eastern woodwinds)

Thanks a lot bro,
Yes Middle Eastern sounding tracks...
Concerning Syriana, it's not very orchestral and even less symphonic or emotive...
But Thanks a lot for giving me some tracks:)
Let's keep on:) |

Wind and the Lion by Jerry Goldsmith
The Four Feathers by James Horner
I see you're not looking for golden age scores but there may be some of them that stand very well even to this day. One example is Miklos Rozsa's Valley of the Kings (main title with its serpentine music inflections are terrific). Also his score to Thief of Baghdad.
There's also a track (Afghanistan theme) in AR Rahman's score for Bose: The Forgotten Hero that might be appropriate |

Thanks a lot BHELPURI
But I need good quality scores in terms of SOUND, so may you please evitate old score.
Dont worry, I adore Rozsa's but I need something more fresh and symphonic such as Prince of Egypt or Stargate...
Thanks AGAIN ! |

I'm not exactly a "bro."
Anyhow, I think you need permission from the production companies to use film scores for your videos. Look into finding free music from composers just starting out or buy some production music from a music library that provides licensing so your videos aren't taken down for copyright violations. |

How about:
Jeremiah by Bruce Broughton
Might not fit exactly but there is some good stuff in the score and it fits the theme. _________________ "My Logic is Undeniable" - I, Robot |

I just had the time and nothing else to do
I think you only missed from the list Troy by James Horner,
and not the very same style, but Munich by John Williams (and a lot from his SW saga) are quite touching and moving, whatever youre looking for.
Btw heard anything from Marcus Viana? Hes genious too.
Cheers. |
