Maybe this has been asked before, but I didn't see a thread ... so if I'm repeating something, ignore me.

But which film score makes you keep the lights on at night?

Titus, by Eliot Goldenthal, is not a horror score, though the film contains some horrific elements. The track titled "Pickled Heads" did scare me, made me jump out of my seat, the first time I heard it. There are a lot of elements — rock 'n' roll, mad carousel, screetchy vocals (?) and electronics. The combination is creepy. Request it sometime and see.

Poltergeist - Jerry Goldsmith
Trauma - Pino Donaggio

I had a hard time sleeping after I heard Trauma because it was unsettling. Freaky, freaky.

Jeepers Creepers 2 is pretty scary stuff, yet enjoyable. Weird.

Alien - Jerry Goldsmith
Alien 3 - Elliot Goldenthal
Event Horizon - Michael Kamen (regrettably they didn't publish a "normal" soundtrack record, rather a peculiar mixture between the Kamen-score parts and the techno-music by Orbital Confused)
The Omen Trilogy - Jerry Goldsmith
The Haunting - Jerry Goldsmith
Resident Evil: Apocalypse - Jeff Danna (not a masterpiece, but okay regarding the action scoring)
The Cell - Howard Shore

I'm not sure if it is the scariest music, but for me, it is the best score for a scary movie:

Bram Stoker's Dracula by Wojciech Kilar.

For why I like it so much, see my review.

Scary stuff!

OK, so this is not a score... more like 15 seconds of sound, but...

Star Trek - The Next Generation: Up The Long Ladder

That scene where they take cells from the stomach lining from unconscious members of the Enterprise crew... with meter-long needles... uuuaaaah!!!

I actually don't have the score for that episode (if there is one), but there's a band that uses a very similar arrangement in one of their songs, and I can't listen to that song without seeing a HUGE needle coming my way...

The Exorcism of Emily Rose - Christopher Young. Amazing, nightmarish music.

Hm. Well. From what I've heard here...

There's one that's called Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (something like that) and the last track A Purpose is pretty... scary... more disturbing actually...
