This year we are going to be concentrating on quality. Twopop will be working on removing redundant tracks and I will be working on removing poorly rated and poor quality tracks. Also I am converting much of the library over to Lossless.
- Please submit redundant tracks in the new sticky. Twopop will look into them. If they are exact, she will keep the one that is in the best quality and delete the other(s).
- Please only contribute essential CDs to the playlist. Essential meaning new releases and/or CDs you definitely think will be rated a 4 or above. I am going to be extra picky from now on.
- Please rate as many albums as you can early this year as I will be using the ratings as a guide to which soundtracks should be removed from the playlist. Whole CDs may go or just some songs. I will maintain a list of CD removals here.
Our goal this year is to improve the quality of the stream. Whatever you can do to contribute to this goal is greatly appreciated.

First set of removals are actually "moves". The following albums have been removed from SST and added to our new station, Entranced.FM which officially opens January 23rd:
Six Feet Under (2 Remix Tracks Only)
Morricone RMX (not a soundtrack)
As If To Nothing (not a soundtrack)
Heaven & Hell (not a soundtrack)
Opera Sauvage (not a soundtrack)
El Greco (not a soundtrack)

Currently when you play the stream it is defined as:
Entranced FM - A chilled mix of Ambient, Trance & World.
When I spoke with Saffron she did say she would expand upon this a bit too.
Also, had a question regarding this thread for Jeric:
You mentioned you would like us to rate as many albums as we would like to rate, but what kinda time period are you looking for this to be done in? Put another way, when do you plan on using the ratings to start making decisions?

I've already started with the "easy ones". The ratings will have a small factor but it will be more of a tool to make it easier for me to find weak albums. You don't have to rush and rate everything in the playlist. Just be especially aware from now on about rating albums when given the opportunity.

Man, with Forbidden Zone on the list you guys still picked Buffy as the more hated soundtrack? FREAKS. I love Buffy compared to FZ. HAHAHA. |

So rather unknown and therefore unrated albums like US Marshals or Gone To Texas will hopefully not have to go even though they are hardly ever requested? |

It's a combination of multiple things. If anything, some albums may lose some of their tracks.
It will be more about how low the album is ranked than whether it has been ranked or not. If it only has 1/2 a star, that's a pretty good indication that people don't like it. If it's not ranked at all, it will be handled on an individual album basis.

So I see all the Reba West tracks are gone from the Robotech Album. I won't argue against that, but I will argue that all the other non-Michael Bradley vocal tracks should go to. They didn't even appear in the animated series and always struck me as filler. The ones I'd cut are Disk 2, 7-15.
