Airplane Suite by Elmer Bernstein

It's on
Essential Elmer Bernstein Film Music
Disasters!, The: Movie Music Album

I think the tracks are identical; at the very least they're both exactly 4:26mins long.

Well, I'm not sure if I noticed correctly but in the album 'Chocolat' of Rachel Portman the first track Minor Swing (Django Reinhardt & Stéphane Grappelli) is double.

The length of two first tracks is the same and their number too so I think they are identical.

Fixed. Thanks, Dragon-fly. Smile

I'm not sure about this one but, isn't the soundtrack of Wild Rovers have the same duplicate tracks on The Last Run/Wild Rovers, from track 13 to 22?

To everyone who has contributed to this thread:

It's hard to believe over a year has passed since JERIC started this project!

A lot has happened since then - many disruptions and a lot of growth. My focus for 2008 is to finish finding and removing all the duplicate tracks, and in a few cases, shifting them to one of the other stations in 24seven.fm system.

You are a big help in this! I am methodically going thru the SST playlist. Your lists and suggestions above have also been a great aid. As you will see below, some are complete, some are still in the to-do pile.

I want you to know that no track is ever discarded arbitrarily. I listen to each and every track with headphones, and frequently do additional research about the recordings as well.

So please continue to keep your eyes and ears open and posting to this thread. We really appreciate your input!

Prowokator Track 03-Ave Maria, and Track 11-Ave Maria Instrum. remain in the playlist.

Removed track 12-Provocateur: Ave Maria from the Polish Film Music compilation album.

In the Review section below the Track Listing of the album page, I list the tracks that have been removed, where you can find them elsewhere in the SST playlist, and sometimes an explanation as to why it was deleted.

Adagio For Strings by Samuel Barber.

It's on:

The Elephant Man
Homeworld
Platoon
Samuel Barber / Thomas Schippers
The Scarlet Letter

I admit that they're all different versions (actually I only know the first three Embarassed ), but I think they're too alike.

After researching this one, I'm not sure I ever want to hear this piece again. Razz Wink

We had approximately 7 versions of "Adagio For Strings" - some the straighhtforward, unabridged Barber work for strings, others by a cappella choirs, etc.

If you are interested in which were kept and those that were removed, please read the Review section of the albums Alien_Avatar listed above, plus Great Composers: Georges Delerue.

If there are any that I missed, please bring them to my atttention.

Tonks wrote:
"Memento" soundtrack Bjork - "All is full of love", and on the "Stigmata" too

I decided to keep them both.
Track 03 from Stigmata is 4:49, and is very similar to the version on Bjork's award winning video.
Track 10 from Memento is a longer at 5:21, with a little longer opening and extended ending of the synth mechanical sounds. The entire track also has a lot more reverb.

NOUP I won't do it Very Happy

LOL! Too late.

All 3 are different - performed by Fred Astaire, Ella Fitzgerald, and an instrumental. So all remain.

Keep looking though. Wink
Thanks!
