|
FYI: Soundtrack has been added to the playlist.
You can request from the album here.
My first ever forum post, so go easy on me
I searched the playlist and didn't find any mention of this game soundtrack.
It isn't as good as the superb music from Perfect Dark on the N64, but although a 2CD soundtrack does exist for that, it doesn't seem to be purchasable anywhere. The music from this prequel is of a much higher quality though, given the two generations of hardware improvement. It is still well worth listening to.
Perfect Dark Zero's music is by David Clynick, who co-composed the music to the original alongside Graeme Norgate (who did the music on Goldeneye for the N64, which was never released on CD unfortunately). It is reminiscant of the score to Perfect Dark, which itself seemed influenced by the score to Goldeneye. So it has a bit of a Bond flavour to it.
It has some nicely chilled out tracks, like "Mission Select", "Datacore Demolition - Training", "Fail" or any of the "Stealth" versions of mission tracks.
Being a shooty action blowing things up game, it also has some great adrenaline pumping tracks, like "Rooftops Escape" and "Trinity Escape".
It also has 3 songs: "Glitter Girl", "Limelight" and "Pearl Necklace" which you can safely junk.
Regardless of the quality of the actual game, the soundtrack is great. |

That's one of the best first posts I've seen in quite some time. Welcome to SST.

Cheers
I've been listening to SST for pretty much a year now, and I thought maybe I should start getting involved a little more.

I have seen this score in the store several times, but still have never picked it up even though it seems like it could be good. I am for having the soundtrack added as I am very curious to hear it.
As JERIC and J2brown mentioned, great post! |

Good suggestion! The music of this game is good. I vote yes. _________________ Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate... leads to suffering. |

Are you lot suggesting that the average quality of first time posts isn't particularly high, or that mine was exceptional?
It is a shame that the original Perfect Dark (N64) soundtrack isn't really suitable for SST, as the CD was only released as a limited edition freebie and is hard to get hold of, and the sound quality isn't great as it is all N64 standard synth.
Ignoring all that, the actual music is superb (and better than this CD, not Perfect Dark Zero doesn't have a good score). Probably my favourite game soundtrack ever, and isn't like there is a shortage of contenders for that throne. |
