As part of Universal's continuing celebration of Back to the Future's 30th anniversary (in addition to a new home video release and a brief theatrical re-release), there's this exciting bit of information:
"Something else we’ll have to wait for more details on is a new picture disc vinyl soundtrack release for Back to the Future, which will be available on October 16th. We’ll likely get to see the artwork for that as the release gets closer."

I actually hope that it's based off of Intrada's 2009/2010 release of the Alan Silvestri score rather than a reissue of the OST album. While the OST isn't terrible, I could do without the forgettable songs by Eric Clapton and Lindsey Buckingham that are only in the film for 2 seconds anyway. I could also go for an album with more than just 10 tracks.
It'll probably just be the OST, which is fine because the rest of the album is great and memorable. But it would be nice if they'd do something a little more inventive.
Anyway, just thought I'd put this out there for vinyl enthusiasts! |
