Since I've seen it several times now that some new members of SST aren't that well experienced with the english language very often at the beginning, I thought it might be a good idea to make a basic welcome & explaining text or tutorial message for new registered users in french/spanish/german etc., so the first hesitation to be part of this wonderful community because of not so well developed language knowledges in chat etc. may be softened a bit.

So everyone would get a short standard FAQ in their own mothertongue, but of course with the important hint that english is the main language here, in order to prepare them for the usual business around here.

What do you think?

Interesting idea bpe!
I think it would be really nice to get SST welcome message plus some FAQ info in your native language.

But if I counted it correctly, we need at least 13 languages just to cover SST's Top 20 visiting countries. So if we want to make it really multilingual - the message probably could be a little long and complicated.

So my suggestion is that since SST software (in most of the cases at least) recognizes countries we are from, maybe it could be possible to prepare bunch of welcome messages in different langauages (one language each) to send it to new SSTers by the pattern based on their country flag.

Multilingual version (but with only 4-5 languages included i think) could be prepared for "white flags".

If bpe's idea is possible to implement and if it gets more support I can contribute polish translation of welcome message of course Smile

Thanks for your (as always) great input, molossus.
Of course I could do the german version as well.
I believe, finding someone to translate everything around here is the smallest problem. Wink

Sounds like a great idea bpewien!
I know when I first got here I hessitated getting involved in the chat and the forum
because my english wasn't that good. Now because of sst I've improved. Lucky me!

Anyways, I would love to do the danish translation if it is needed,
and maybe I could make someone do a very simple japanese version Very Happy
