Hello,

There is a small but annoying bug in the playlist/request page.

On the page, the Chat entry box is above the search entry box. This means that, when you load the page, the cursor moves to the chat box first. When you load the page and immediately type in the artist, album or title you are looking for, the search term is put in the chat box by default, and displayed for all to see!

I would like to ask the web designer to alter the page, so that the search entry box is above the chat entry box. This will make the page more useful and intuitive. It will also cut down on the unnecessary noise in the chat room.

Thank you, SST!

It's not only the placement of the search box in comparison to the chat entry box.
The chat entry box uses a script to grab focus.
This is done to make it possible to quickly type another line in the chat box, after your previous line has been posted.

I know it is annoying that the focus changes once the chat box loads, but to remove that focus script would mean that it will not work on the entire site, which makes chatting more time consuming (because you manually have to point to the chat entry box).

But I'm not the web designer of this site, so maybe he will come up with a solution.

I'm not sure if my idea is good (I have no experience in web designing) but wouldn't it be easier to remove chat window from playlist/request page? (just like it is "removed" from Forums pages)

BTW: The place we would have gained on playlist/request page by removing chat window could be used in future for example for placing a list of composers currently in queue to make requesting easier

(if my memory serves me right, it's been suggested in the forums before to make such extra window somwhere apart from queue with composers' names currently in the queue)

*applauds and whistled for molossus* I like the idea too... THIRD! Even without the composer listing, that's not a bad idea.

Love the idea molossus, but I am finding that with the chat gone from the playlist page now I really do miss it. I may be in the minority, but now I gotta have more windows open to follow everything. I shall cope though, just thought I would throw my two cents in.

Put a banner there. Smile

I just use tabbed browsing. Open the request window in 1 tab and keep the queue in a different one. If you miss anything in chat, there's the log.

I don't miss the chat window in the request page. Requests take what? 30 seconds anyway? So once you're done, go back to queue. Not much can happen in that amount of time.

Thanks Jeric.

I really like the list of artists in queue idea, but I know that will take time that we just don't have at the moment.
