I often favour the soft sad sounding ones but at the same time love the energetic/triumphant scores like The Seizure of Power from Resident Evil!

My mouse was demented so it sort of clicked the quote option on my posted message, it won't happen again because I threw that mental thing in the trash and got a new one this morning.

i like a score based on melody. its music after all. i like it for being music, its an addition that i love it if it works for a film too,

i like anything that sounds good to me. whether its goldmsith orchestra or trevor rabin rock style or juno reactors techno.

top 5 (in no order):

-phantom menace (williams)
-forrest gump (silvestri)
-reloaded / revolutions (davis vs juno reactor)
-brother (joe hisaishi)
-first contact (goldsmith)

My Top 5 would be:
Band of Brothers
Back Draft
Pearl Harbor
Black Hawk Down
Star Wars (I like the music, NOT the movie)

I also like "Hymne to the Fallen" from Saving PVT Ryan, so it would come 6th place. As you can see, I'm an Hans Zimmer fan. It's not about the person, but he just writes GREAT music..

As far as listening enjoyment, I probably turn to these five the most:
1. Black Stallion/Black Stallion Returns-Coppola/Delerue, but prefer the Delerue half.
2. The Last Unicorn
3. Much Ado About Nothing
4. Legends of the Fall
5. Raiders of the Lost Ark

I also listen to Henry V, Shawshank Redemption, Castle in the Sky, Passion-Peter Gabriel, Agnes of God, STII, and Dune-Toto regularly.

I like almost every type of soundtrack that move. Elfman for the use of the chorus, Williams for the innovative of each note with a memorable scene. Some Soundtrack with various artist for those ''Dirty Dancing music'' or Power of Love in Back of the future.

Zimmer for a unique genre in action. etc

My top five has to be:
1: Black Hawk Down
2: Neverending Story
3: The Best of Star Trek
4: SW1: The Phantom Menace <Ultimate Edition>
5: Titanic

note the first two are VERY interchangable.

I dont even like the Titanic movie, but the soundtrack...
Very good in my opinion.

I like a soundtrack that lets me replay the scene in my head whenever I hear the music from it. That's the big reason I love Christopher Franke's work on Babylon 5. Some of that music will bring tears to my eyes. I usually listen to it while reading the Honor Harrington books or plastering an opponent in MOO2.

Favorite Soundtracks
1) Gladiator
2) Halo
3) Matrix Revolutions
4) The Dig
5) Finanl Fantasy : Spirits Within
