Hi, SST folks & score lovers (female + male) !
... great, the responses to my 1st posting in this section (see headline topic "Today starts the DOC Festival (animated films and others)...").
You ever have been in Portugal and "Lisboa" (Lissabon) ?? - Great place to stay. Portwine and Fado, it's a must. Especially in spring time, Greenland along the North Atlantic coast up to Porto is my tipp.
From there now some interesting results just coming around the corner:
5th Lisbon International Documentary Film Festival
doclisboa 2007 - 18th-28th Oct
English documented: http://www.doclisboa.org/en_festival.htm
Here might be the section "Nordic" interesting, too (about doc film scene of Denmark (my neighbourhood country, lovely), Sweden, Norway and Finland).
And "New Visions" sounds that what it needs in my opinion to talk about, too: Reality contra fiction. A never ending discussion. Is "TRADE... welcome in America" a documentary or just Entertainment ??
"O"-tone: A section aimed at discussing the form and text of films, especially daring works that are situated on the frontier between documentaries and fiction, a dialogue that is as old as the history of cinema itself.
All who already thought about, how to start to produce on their own, I think should be possible to organize the electronic script* from there:
24 to 27 October - A forum for co-productions and funding for documentary films
http://www.doclisboa.org/en_lisbondocs.htm
And not enought the docliboa is connected with current running DOK...
Herer the "original news text of DOK":

++++++++++++
In my view, nice to know "documentary" tries to professionalize during the last 1/2 decade. It's our tradition, I would say. I mean: "European tradition".
What's with East Europe ?? - And other (sub-)continental parts, e.g. (North-)/(South-)America, Asia ?? - Would be nice to hear from you about these corners...

[*) If you should have problems to get the documentation about the workshop cost free, send me a pm. Beside my "job" as radio producer I have contacts to the TV department of my broadcasting channel, suppose they can arrange something to grap easily.] |
